Common questions Nine answers

Yes — a full consultation and assessment, at no charge and with no obligation. It exists because we only take on clients when we genuinely believe we can make a real difference. If we can't, you'll be told at the end of it, and pointed somewhere that can help.

No. Massage works pressure into muscle for symptomatic relief. Fascial Manipulation targets specific densifications located during assessment, to restore glide between layers and let load transfer cleanly again. It is point-specific, brief at each point, and usually far less forceful than people expect. We offer sports massage too — but as recovery work, not as a fix for a recurring problem.

Treatment can be intense at the point of restriction, and never beyond what you consent to. Normal responses afterwards include temporary soreness, mild bruising or skin marks, short-term inflammation for one to three days, and a brief fluctuation in symptoms. Most reactions settle naturally within a few days — anything unexpected or severe should be reported to us.

Fascia is continuous with the tissue that suspends the digestive organs, so restriction through the trunk and pelvis can affect how those organs move — and movement matters for both digestion and menstrual pain. Fascial Manipulation for Internal Dysfunction (FMID) is the branch of the method that addresses this. Responses vary between individuals, and it is assessed rather than assumed. It is not a replacement for gastroenterological or gynaecological care.

You get an estimate at the end of the consultation, not an open-ended commitment. Straightforward presentations often change within a few sessions. Long-standing or multi-region cases take longer, and we say so upfront. Results vary between individuals, and the goal is always to get you to the point of not needing us.

Neither is required. Bring imaging or clinical letters if you have them — useful context, though a clear scan doesn't rule fascia out, because scans don't show it. Where appropriate you should keep working with your GP or consultant alongside treatment, and if assessment suggests you need medical investigation we will refer you rather than treat.

You complete a medical history and consent form before any hands-on treatment, covering conditions, medication, surgery and pregnancy. Visceral and pelvic techniques are used only with your specific consent, and you may request a chaperone at any time. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian present. If your health changes significantly between sessions, tell us before the next one. We may pause or decline treatment where that is the clinically appropriate call.

Yes — spiral stabilisation and exercise sessions run one-to-one, in small groups and online. In group and online formats exercises are demonstrated generally, so you are responsible for adapting intensity to your own ability and stopping if anything feels wrong. Hands-on treatment is in person only.

The consultation is free. Session fees are confirmed in writing before you commit to anything. Invoices are payable within seven days. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attended, are charged in full, and packages are non-transferable unless agreed in writing.
